Golden British Shorthair Kittens

Golden shaded and golden chinchilla coats with green-gold eyes: one of the rarest and most sought-after British Shorthair colours.

About the colour

Golden is the colour this cattery was built around. Our king, Cool Boy, is a chocolate golden chinchilla imported from Poland, and the golden lines we work with go back generations of careful selection for exactly this coat: a warm apricot-gold ground with each hair delicately tipped in darker colour, so the cat seems lit from underneath.

The genetics are the most demanding in the breed. Golden requires the wideband trait that pushes colour to the very tips of the hair, layered over generations of selection for warmth and clarity of the ground colour. Two beautiful goldens can still produce ordinary kittens, which is why serious golden breeding is slow, why the colour is scarce worldwide, and why goldens command the highest prices in the breed. We would rather explain that economics openly than pretend it away.

A golden kitten changes almost weekly. The tipping develops through the first months, the green-gold eye colour clarifies over the first year, and the full coat is not truly finished until adulthood. Watching one develop is half the joy of owning one. Every golden kitten we place comes with its pedigree showing exactly where that coat came from, and you will meet Cool Boy himself on the video call.

Goldens almost never wait for a buyer; buyers wait for goldens. If one is listed above, its price is shown openly like every kitten in the house. If not, the waitlist below is the only route we offer, and enquiries mentioning golden are answered with honest timing for the next planned litter, not a sales pitch.
